Two Men Face Charges Regarding Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack
Formal charges have been brought against two men related to a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be irritant spray led to people being hurt at the UK's busiest airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two robbery charges and two counts of using a harmful chemical, authorities have stated.
This legal action stems from an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Prior to the attack, two women were robbed of their suitcases stolen after getting out of a car park lift, according to law enforcement.
A young child was among those injured in the event. Five people required hospital care and were eventually allowed to go home.
This event – which authorities stated was a standalone event and not being treated as terrorism – led to disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a limited duration.
