Trump's Granddaughter Gets Professional Guidance from Tiger Woods Prior to LPGA First Appearance
The rising star has impressive online presence
Kai Trump can count on multiple well-known backers as she starts her LPGA debut on Thursday.
This teenage golfer, who happens to be related to a former US president, was granted a sponsor's invitation to compete at Florida's Annika event in Florida.
Her grandfather, someone who loves golf, possesses numerous courses worldwide and often competes against Kai.
"He's quite skilled. I shouldn't elaborate but we have tight competitions," she stated.
The golfer shared that Trump, unable to come, advised her: "Just don't get nervous."
"My grandpa practically told me to go out there and relax," she continued.
"To me, he's just an ordinary family member. He can't make it for the tournament. He's occupied with world affairs, so he's somewhat preoccupied."
As an amateur, the golfer has competed in only three events this year and maintains position 461 in the American Junior Golf Association standings.
But she's able to receive tips from Tiger Woods, who is dating her mother.
"He represents the best player worldwide," Kai expressed.
"Additionally, he's an even better human being. He suggested me to go out there, have fun, following whatever happens."
She'll challenge several most prominent players in women's golf at the Annika, including second-ranked the champion, England's golfer Hull, Lexi Thompson and last year's winner champion Vu.
The LPGA commented that her participation helps introduce the sport to wider groups, particularly among younger fans.
Kai boasts substantial online presence and has started a personal clothing and lifestyle brand.
The competition starts at 17:30 GMT.
