Clair Obscur Sweeps at the 2025's Golden Joystick Awards
The 43rd yearly Golden Joystick Awards were hosted this past week, and in a stunning performance, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the biggest winner. The standout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive won the prestigious Ultimate Game of the Year award, along with accolades for Best Storytelling and Excellence in Visuals.
Complementing the developer's success, its talented cast also garnered personal awards. Jennifer English won Best Lead Performer for her portrayal as Maelle, while Ben Starr won Best Supporting Actor for his acting as Verso. Furthermore, Sandfall Interactive the studio was named Studio of the Year. In total, Clair Obscur and its makers achieved seven awards throughout the ceremony.
Other notable winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which won Best Audio Design and Top Console Title, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, honored with Best Indie Game (Self-Published) and PC Game of the Year. Notably, the majority of Golden Joystick Awards are selected by the gamers, with only four awards—Critics Choice, Breakthrough, Hall of Fame inductee, and Streamer Selection—determined by reviewers.
